HISTORY OF ZEOLITE

Zeolite is a new mineral with new magic

The zeolite industry has experienced continuous growth since its discovery in the western United States in the 1950s. In the intervening period, zeolite production in the United States doubled, while in Canada it went to zero. The reason for the sustained growth in the US and the rest of the world is the extraordinary adaptability and flexibility of the mineral, which can be applied in a wide range of industrial and consumer applications. This growth has been driven by product research and development.

Whereas, no two zeolite deposits have exactly the same characteristics, the current technology base now allows for compounding zeolites into specific products as well as surface modifying zeolites to increase capacity for application in removal of various levels of toxicity from water, soils and air.

Zeolites are a specialty commodity. The markets for zeolite are for coarse granular products, fine granular products, ultra fine and modified products. Consumers require a wide range of physiochemical properties to be readily available.

Because our belief is one size does not fit all – ZMM will accommodate the wide variations required by the marketplace
